about
Inspired by the Sufi Whirling Dervish's of Konya, "Mevlevi" honours the turning and expanse of the inner world to take the listener into a deeper internal journey for reflection and meditation.
Each analogue drum machine layer, vocal part and field recording was recorded and processed live with delays and reverbs to create an organic, human feel. Hiss, pops and crackles are all part of the music along with delay patterns moving in and out of time.
"Mevlevi" is also a nod to my recent travels to Tromsø, Norway and the incredible experiences with people and the heart-stopping majesty of the natural landscape.
